Calendar of Events

The year-round programme includes a number of cultural events, educational programmes, lectures, tours of Vltava sites and will culminate in September with the exhibition of the same name, VLTAVA Famed & Flowing, in the Prague Castle Riding School.

The exhibition VLTAVA Famed & Flowing

The exhibition VLTAVA Famed & Flowing is the main activity of the project of the same name, which is organised by the National Heritage Institute together with other partners in 2025 on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the first performance of Bedřich Smetana's symphonic poem Vltava. The exhibition will be available for viewing from September 5, 2025, to January 4, 2026 in the Prague Castle Riding School.

Art Competition The Vltava Through Children's Eyes

For centuries, the Vltava River has inspired artists, writers, and composers. We believe it will also spark creativity in the youngest generation. The National Heritage Institute is announcing a children's art competition, "The Vltava Through Children's Eyes" open not only to kindergartens, elementary schools, and art schools, but also to individual participants up to the age of 17.
